We’ve all been there…

I’m willing to bet that any designer or developer I know has had clients like these. I know it can be hard for some people who have a good idea of what they want in their heads to vocalise these thoughts into tangible briefs. That’s fine and a fact of life for a freelancer. There are others, however, who don’t quite “get it”. Lo and behold, some skilful types have visualised these “difficult” requests to great effect…

We want it to look like this but don’t copy it, just make it different enough but keep it the same!

Lanterns and Night Photography

I live/love in Liverpool but for reasons that escape me I have yet to experience the annual Halloween Lantern Parade. This all changes tonight. Tonight I’m trotting out with my trusty Nikon D80 To try and take spectacular low-light photos like my father and father-in-law. The lantern festival itself is a great community event. Arts and craft centres across the city work all year round to create some of the most impressively crafted paper sculptures, usually lit up from the inside but rarely set on fire. If I can come away with a photo or two worth sharing I’ll be a happy man.

Dark Unsettling Urban Music or “DUUM”

I listen to a lot of music, like a lot a lot. All genres are fair game and my preference changes with the wind. A dance teacher friend of mine has asked for some assistance picking out a good counterpoint to this track from my most feared movie “The Ring”

In and of itself, this is a pretty enjoyable task to ask of anyone. For me it’s even more fun – it gives me an excuse to trawl through the hellish depths of my “special” Spotify playlist. The one that I usually avoid listening to. The one with all of the Aphex Twin. Yeah, that one.

I’m off, wish me luck.
